Band saw fence

My father in law surprised me with a new band saw (my first and boy do I love it!) this past weekend and the first project I made with/for it was a fence, using materials I had on hand.

It’s a fairly simple concept, just some wood clamped to a pivot point, that hooks under the edge of the table to prevent it from moving up. This way I can easily adjust for drift. It works great, took about an hour to make (and a day for the glue to dry).

If you’d like to see more pictures, I have the whole thing on my blog, here.

Thanks for looking!

This is really smart Steve. I may have to “borrow” your idea

Steve, that’s a great little fence. The idea of being able to adjust for drift is fantastic. Very simple too. Thanks for sharing this.
