This is actually the second can crusher I have made, the first was a house warming gift for LJ pinniger. I am curious to see how it will hold up. I used White Ash and broke a lot of wood screws with it being so hard. I had to drill out more than i wanted to get them together. Hopefully with the glue they will be fine. I used a poplar dowel for the handle and washer. Finished with two coats of spray on poly. I didn’t use acorn nuts on this one as they were about $.70 a piece and I didn’t need it to be that fancy. It has crushed a lot of cans so far.

I got the instructions from the Gorilla Glue website and the idea from LJ members thelt and Odiferous. mickeyt was also nice enough to give some advice about a question I had in the exact measurements.

Wow! That’s one wicked can crusher. Looks like it should last forever.

Very nice. Unfortunately I don’t have the need for one…..I have size 16 shoes.
Thanks for posting anyway.

Cool project, looks great and sturdy. I’m sure it will handle the job well.

Have your say...
