I built this cabinet out of hard maple. The top is checkered with walnut and maple, along with a slight amount of oak to set it apart from the rest of the maple. I like the euro cabinet hinges. I tend to use those alot. They can be a bit expensive, but work well and should last for a very long time.

My dad has a couple Bose surround speakers in the back of his living room that would look great on stands like these. I see a Christmas gift coming. Thanks for posting!

Yes Sir …nice cabinet , love the top and I think I might join the others with that speaker stand thought process …excellent storage opportunity for all of my CDs , Tapes, DVDs , etc.. : ) Thank you for posting this beauty .

I’ve got euro hinges on all my cabinets and they do work good. I wouldn’t use anything else. Nice looking cabinet. I love maple.
