Spalted maple bowl

Spalted, quilted maple, approx. 6 in. diameter, 2 inches deep. First of two turnings from the same block. Danish oil finish. Eighth bowl ever turned – I’m starting to like this!

That’s really nice Tom, I love the grain pattern. Did you core out the other piece or was it part of the same plank??

Bob, the original block was 4” thick, so I divided it for the two bowls. The photos don’t do the grain justice. In person, it shimmers as you rotate it.
