I just can’t seem to stop making bowls.. I don’t know why they are so satisfying to me but I really enjoy it.. Maybe it is a fad… Anyway, digging through and restacking the old woodpile I came across a crotch piece that was too big for my fireplace and felt very dense (heavy not dumb) so I thought I would give it a whirl.. (pun intended).

To my surprise a boring old piece of oak had all this character and color. Who woulda thunk it? It is now my favorite of all my bowls.

Again just wax and polish finish…

I like it. And I like doing bowls as well. I’d like to see you try to make a smaller foot for your bowls and bring them up to a quicker sweep (if that makes sense?). You have a great finish and some awesome finds for wood.

Turning is addictive! I’ve only turned a couple of bowls, but I do understand the fascination. Your bowl is fantastic.

Beautiful!

Super colors and I love the way you angled the lip of the bowl.
