A near miss

My neighbor has a very large sycamore tree in his front yard. I was pulling weeds in my yard and heard a sound of breaking branches. I moved just as this branch fell about a foot from me. It was a dead branch and I, not one to let good wood go to waste, thought this may make a good box. Not a bad box for a near miss. Sycamore, cedar bottom and walnut to hold the corners together. 5×9x4 Finished with seal coat shellac and wax

Very nice box.
The grain on the lid is particularly gorgeous.

A very nice box, never seen one with live edges before and the wood is beautifully figured….well done.

Great use of this found wood. Don’t think I have ever seen live edge used like you did. I like it!

I REALLY like the way you used the live edge. Fantastiv box all around.

I like the combination of figuring in the wood and the way you used live edge in this project.

First, glad to hear you are ok and the falling branch missed you.
As for the box, that is really cool. Love the live edge treatment.
