This was a quick turn of a cherry bowl for a retirement gift for the wife of one of my old fishing buddies. I did not want to go empty handed so I made her this bowl for fruit or candy. It is 7 1/2” x 2 1/2” high.
Cherry darkens with age and usually starts out lighter than this, but I lacquered it before the final sanding and it got this dark.
It is finished with EEE and Shellawax and was pretty good, but then I buffed it with Tripoli, White Diamond and Carnuba wax. I found out in Beall’s video that Carnuba wax is food safe because that is what they coat M&M’s with!! We actually eat the stuff!!

Cheers, Jim

Pretty bowl; the grain is lovely. I didn’t know about the M&Ms – you learn something new every day…

Thanks, Doreen. That is my motto. If I don’t learn something new each day I feel it was a waste to get up!

Very nice bowl profile Jim. The finish is spectacular. Looks like your Beall buffing system is already paying dividends.
