Made these carrying cases for two new Chief Petty Officers in the Navy to carry their charge books. Red oak with hand made leather handles and a velvet liner. Java stain highlights the engraving and junction between frame and panel. A lighter shade of danish oil seals the rest.

Somehow…. placing a book into its own box elevates the book into another level. Kind of like putting art on a pedestal, maybe…. but somehow it adds ‘significance’. Great concept, great job!

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Whoa, great job – Very nicely done and I’m sure they will be appreciated. Is the engraving laser done?

Cool cases! Like the wood choice and the handles. A great storage for the charge books, they’ll be well protected. Great idea and great job!

Have your say...
