Just finished my latest project. I haven’t had a chance yet to load it up with beverages & ice but you get the picture. The pictures I posted show the table top glue up, the top with the coolers and lids, the legs glued up (note the legs were cut down to actual size after this picture was taken prior to glue up) and a good shot of the boxes that house the coolers, and a look at the table with the lids on that I’ve not put the finish on yet.
A few notes regarding the build:
- The coolers are planter boxes I bought for about $10 each
- this project was build from construction grade 2 X 4’s, 6’s, 8’s, & 10’s
- I went outside of the box & stained this mustard colored yellow
- 4 coats of polly
- 3 coats of spar varnish on feet of legs to prevent wicking any water
This table will be under a patio and receive virtually no direct sunlight so I took the chance of using a water base stain & polly. I also put a hard 45 degree chamfer on all the pieces to the top while leaving the table top edges and the legs sharp & square, giving this table allot of character. A fun and functional build . . . thanks for looking.
