Finally made us a headboard. We’ve never had a room large enough to fit one but now that we hung our TV on the wall and took out a shelf in our room we had just enough space to add a finishing touch of a headboard!

Made out of my goto wood Douglas Fir. It is 5’x3’ made out of 10 2×6’s cut, sanded and stained. I used my new belt sander for the first time (vs the mouse sander) and it worked amazingly. This was also my first time using a stain that wasn’t a natural wood color; I used ‘driftwood blue’ to tie in all of our colors in our room.

It is 3” off the ground and bolted to our bed frame (I did not want it resting on the ground) and is 4ft tall. I them framed out the top with a 2”x1”x5’4” pine wood. this helps finish it off nicely.
