This was a very simple and quick pair of nightstands I created for my mother in law who want simplistic with no drawers. I bought all pine, mainly because she is going to paint them white so why waste the money on oak, 2×2 for the legs, 1×6 for the sides, and 1×3 for the top. I cut the 6 1×3 to 15” long and glued and clamped them over night for the table top. I cut the legs to 26” high, the sides to 11” long. I put two pocket holes on each side of the sides for the legs and two on the top of each side for the top. I off set the sides so that they were exactly in the middle of the legs to give it a bit more depth. After attaching all four sides with 1 1/4 course pocket screws I sanded the top to a seamless finish and attached it with 1 1/4 course pocket screws.

Very nice. Simple is good. I make stuff out of pine a lot because it’s less expensive and readily available. I also like to use pallets for things because i can get the Heat treated ones for free at work. I like the night stands :)

Like it. Simple but well made, has clean lines. I’m sure MIL likes it.
