Router table, table

One of those types of projects you have bouncing around in your head for a long time and finally decide to knock it out. I wanted to make a table for my router table so I wouldn’t have to pull it out and go to the trouble of mounting it to something every time. It’s adjustable so that it can be moved up or down to a comfortable height. Set to the lowest height, it is even with tops of the drawer and shelf sides for a bigger surface and also the same height as my work table and other surfaces in the shop (give or take a quarter to half an inch) so it can be rolled up against one of them and used as extra surface also. It still could use a few tweaks but it is pretty much finished.

Of course after I had finished it, I ran across some really good ideas on how to build a pretty cool drawer for my router bits. Oh well, maybe later.

This is a well thought out idea. Well done.

It looks great! How about a review of that router table? I have looked at it several times when in Home Depot. I need to upgrade from my very basic, not so useful Sears table. I have been thinking of building my own, but what you’ve done here is very attractive assuming the table is as good cabinet!

Have your say...
