We wanted a TV cabinet big enough to hide our 42” TV but not towering in our small room. I designed and built this one with bifold doors over the TV space. The design is available under “electricsail” in the Google Sketchup Warehouse.

To keep it fairly light since we seem to move often, I used 1/2” plywood and cleats instead of 3/4” ply with dados. I used beadboard masonite panel for the back and door inserts.

Thanks for the compliments. My wife and I are pleased with it. I had some challenges due to lack of proper tools but this success has inspired me to continue woodworking and put together a better workshop.

The design and the construction are awesome. The combination of open shelves and doors (for storage) fit very well together.

Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful cabinet! Great design, very well crafted shelves and doors. Like the rounded feet and the white color. Great job!

The color, style and bead board give this that cottage look. Really nice, especially the inset doors. They can be challenging because you have to keep things very square unlike overlay doors which can cover less than square openings. Great job.

My Husband and I want to build a tv stand with the bi-fold doors in headboard like you did. Do you have plans for this? We are newbies and want to get our feet wet in building our own furniture. thanks Gary!
