This is the first Christmas present of the year made as a joint gift for my 2 sons (4 and 6 years old). The sides are made from cherry and the top is walnut. After getting it all glued up I was disappointed in the dull sound of it until I picked it up and found that the sound was deadened by the surface it was sitting on. I added some small blocks underneath to raise it up and this made all the difference in the world to the sound of it.

nice looking. and the dull sound is also because you need to tune the top. there are websites that show you how to tune a tongue drum, they should have a note scale fro high to low. it took me a minute ti figure that out to .. very nice looking tho.
