I saw this tote in the background of a “The English Woodworker” blog and I made a bunch of them. I made large, medium, and small ones and gave them away for Xmas gifts. I made this one for myself with hand tools only. I used a carcass and dovetail saw, a rabbet plane and a Record 405 multi plane to make the groove for the solid wood bottom. The detail that caught my eye (2nd pic) and made me make these was how the handle is let into the side panels. It’s a dovetail pin put into a big tail socket.
This is a good size for loading a few tools into to go fix something elsewhere in the house. I had another about twice this size but my wife took it for herself. It’s a good hand tool project , a good way to use up scraps, and they make good gifts.

Nice tool thing arj. I’m a newbee and I like the simple but “clever” touches like your handle mount and the “lines” are clean.

Hi Hillwily,
It’s the dovetail handle connection that first caught my eye. I like it much better than a round dowel for a handle.

Hi Charles,
I gave away a few of these at Xmas. One was for my son-in-law with some tools in it.
I have to say you have a nice collection of tools. Do they all fit in one tote?
