I also enjoy making new old stuff. I’d love to see a few more pictures from different angles. Also please tell me about the finish.

Love the look. What kind of wood did you use and what kind of finish did you put on there for that dark look?

Its poplar face frame with birch plywood for sides with pine top!! The finish is a primitivefinish I do, basically just paint with a flat color, sand a little off, then I use dark walnut stain over the paint! Very simple process just a lot of work, but turns out great! Thanks for looking!

Jonathan – Interesting about the finish as I do the exact opposite when I’m looking for a ‘distressed’ look. I stain the wood very dark brown or black, then paint over that sparingly with latex. Sometimes I add glue for a crackle look. Often I sand afterward to expose more of the dark stain.

Like the rustic look. It a great build with lots of uses, great for storage purposes. Great work!
