I have been working on this table for months now, it completely encompasses my life. The top is mostly solid maple with maple trim bent around it. Under the top I used solid oak at 90 deg to the top maple for strength. The pedistal is oak with brazillian tigerwood feet. I’m almost finished, a little more carving, and finish two wormy chestnut barstools and some danish oil, and thats it. All of the lumber used in this project was salvaged, not paid for in anyway.
