Hand Carved Welcome Sign

Here is my second welcome sign that I hand carved. I really like the shallow gouge from lee valley. I use that one more than any other on these carving projects. Of course there is a fair amount of straight chiseling, and knife work as well. I finished this with a couple of coats of Thompson’s water seal, the natural cedar colour variety. Then I sprayed on about 6 coats of satin exterior finish.

The sign is made from pine, but should hold up in a protected area.

Great hand carving on that beautiful sign. Like the fonts, flower and the textures on the well finished pine.
