My wife asked for a small stool for the kitchen. When standing for prolonged period she likes to have one foot up to relieve her back. This is made of maple and padouk. It was an attempt to mortise through the top and place a wedge in the top of the stool legs and center support. I need practice and different tools for the mortise and glad for wood fillers. She likes it and uses it daily, it was fun and I learn with every project.

I like the mortise/wedge design. Besides being very strong, it looks really nice.

Wow, this is very cool. I like the “monster wedges” in those tenons!
