Pete no secret. I used a paint that has metal pieces in it. You can buy it at most hobby stores. It comes with an acid that helps to speed up the rusting. You then put a water based polyurethane over it.

Nice one Ron, I like the rusting look you get. Don’t give Pete to many hints he’s far enough ahead of us now.

I agree with Bob Collins, don’t tell that Pete bloke any secrets. He is much too good already. But then again, Pete tells us things so that is probably not fair.

Great piece again, cant wait to see No.1.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Guys I agree I have seen Pete’s work and yes he is way out there and the quality is there too. I think even he will be surprised at the base I have for this one.

menage a trios – deaux looks great. The rused metal finish is amazing. It looks like the top edge of the form has rusted away.

Very unique piece, Ron. That rusting sure adds an ancient look to the piece. It must have been a hoot to turn with that much of the top gone, too!
