Hi all. I know most of us are familiar with the pen kits available out there. I thought it might be fun to build a replica (sort of) of a period ammo box to use as a pen box. I did a bunch of research and discovered olive drab (more of a green/mustard) color was used by both sides (along with a host of other colors). The box is by no means to scale or anything, since I wanted the box to be nice and sturdy but be recognizable to the buffs out there. On one end I stenciled .58 Caliber and the other is stenciled .44 caliber, which are the two balls used in the pen kit. The stencils took longer to make than the box, since I don’t have the luxury of a laser! The clip is the 1861 Springfield musket (.58 cal). The pen is walnut. Comments welcomed! Also for sale on my website. I can make more!
