The last couple of weeks have been Clocks. I have fallen in love with those fit up clocks, pretty reasonable price easy to install and my scrap bin is full of the perfect size wood to make all kinds of clocks. I really like using black walnut and maple together, the contrast just really makes things look great. The other wood used in these clocks is cherry, take a look hope you all enjoy.

On a learning note. When I was building the clock in the last picture I had made all the parts but was waiting for the clock to be delivered. I thought I would speed up the process and assemble and start to finish it while I was waiting for the delivery. I waited to drill the opening for the clock till I had the clock in hand. I attached the top pieces of wood to the bottom using a wood screw holding them together while the glue dried. When the clock arrived I confirmed the size, propped it up on the drill press and drilled the whole. Needless to say I forgot about the wood screw and I have now ordered a new forstner bit to replace the one I destroyed.

Nicely done… I really like the clock faces on the cherry pieces… and your right… walnut and maple look good together. Lots of possibilities. Excellent craftsmanship.
