I had No 1 grandson visit for a long weekend so I made him some wooden toys from my off cut box.
a Tow truck, a bus, a ute and a truck with a gas tank on the back.

Pine off cuts from 100×50mm stock
wheels are about 70mm some with 6mm axles and one with 8mm axle due to me drilling the wheels out too big!

The bus I just glued the wheels to the axle but I didn’t like the look of it

so the others the wheels rotate on a hub within the axle and the axle is able to rotate also.

They kept Rocky amused for about 15 minutes then he spent the rest of the time exploring the workshop and working on the bike and car!

They will go in the Grandkids box for next time, as you can almost bet he will remember them and want them for the next visit if I disposed of them!

He will remember how much fun he had with Grandpa. I wish mine had taken the time to do things like this.

Five minutes, huh? He’s been imprinted. He’ll never forget those toys (including the bike and the creeper).

Nice wood toys. I especially like the way you did the wheels. Your grandson will probably like making stuff with you as he gets older. A great way to bond.
