Project Information

My first marking gauge. The stock is guayubira (Patagonula americana) and the beam palo blanco (Calycophyllum multiflorum).
The washer is made of steel, so the blade is longer sharp. Unfortunately did not get a smaller diameter washer.
Not yet used it, when put to the test will update information regarding their ease of use or not.
Later put the construction process on the blog. It's amazing the amount of things that need to be resolved to do something as simple …
Greetings.

Saludos.

Martín

I also love the design. perhaps a replacement for the wingnut - made from wood with a threaded insert.

Nice job! I'm curious to know how the steel wahser works.

Thanks Ken.
Mike, I cant find a threaded insert in my contry, but is a great idea. In this gauge, the steel washer is secure, dont spin. You may to roll the tool a little during the marking. I think the whell can spin in the markings gauges avaliable in the market (your market, in my country nothig is avaliable, in terms of quality hand tool). Thanks for your interest.
