This is a project that my Grandson and I tackled last weekend. He was up for the weekend and wanted to help me with a project. So we decided to make him a shelf to put his soccer trophies on and that he could hang his school bag and his coats on. The supports I cut on the scroll saw to look like motorcycle wheels. He sanded the boards with the orbital sander and also drilled all of the holes with a little help from me. Then he helped screw everything together and was very proud of his work. His Dad is going to help him paint it and then hang it in his room so he can put it to good use.

Letting them start young, thats the way to do it! Good to see your grandson gets to help. Nice job to both of you on the project.

Now that looks like two very happy and proud gentlemen. I bet neither one of them ever forget the time spent building such a special shelf.

Tell him he did a great job. He should be proud of the fine work he set out doing.

Nice project. The best part will be the memories he will have of the time the two of you spent together every time he looks at it.
