I made this as a gift for my 88 yr old father-in-law. I continue to be amazed how people with no guitar-playing experience just love these things. While the guys at the local guitar shop love to play around with them, most people just love the look.
The neck is walnut (it goes through the box, which allows you to tension the strings properly) with a curly maple fret board. These are a fun project to make as you can use all kinds of hardware store finds to make them. The sound hole covers are pop-in brass drain covers.
Thanks for looking.
-- She asked me, "Who are you going to please with that?" I said, "Me."
