It is well, not green tea or green timber but poplar hart wood. The manager at a big box store said he can’t sell it because people think that it’s treated wood, and my local lumber yard doesn’t stock it either but when I find it I buy it, dark olive green to black without stain is just right for me, maple (I think) for the dividers. I know a-lot of people say it is just a secondary wood but I love it. Wish I did not do the hinges like that but it rest against a wall, I hope you like it, made a great gift for my wife. Special thanks to CY6imagry.com for the photography.

That is a real pretty box and pretty wood. it has character!!!!!!!!!Don’t tell them that you are using it for wood working or that you even like it- or it will become expensive!!
