My wife and I met at a rowing club and eventually we purchased our own wooden double rowing shell . After we wore it out and were unable to sell it I decided to convert it into a table/display case. This a basic table design with an ash apron (mortise and tenon) and legs from Lowes. The bow and stern of the rowing shell were cut off and end plates attached to the ribs. I placed some weather stripping on top to keep out the bugs and covered it with ribbon from the medals. A couple of pieces of 1/2 inch tempered glass just sit on top. Its about 10 feet long. Even though we would rather be rowing it, we can still enjoy the memories.

Perhaps a better end for the loyal shell and certainly a unique re-use of it. A great unique concept and a really nice build.
