Oak Television Stand

This was my first “real” woodworking project that I can call my own. It is a television stand for my – then – newly purchased home. The entire stand is made from solid red oak (except the plywood back) and was not stained to preserve that natural color. Some notable features are the raised panel doors and the adjustable interior shelves. The face frame is held together with biscuits, but everything else is joined with rabbets and dadoes. I have to thank my father for the guidance and help in pulling it off. Thanks for looking.

Great job on your first “real project.” You’ve done very well and incorporated some nice elements to expand your woodworking skills. Congratulations and keep it coming.

That’s a very nice piece. I like to finish oak without stain as well.

Great job! Your first project involved a lot of set up and planning to accomplish what you did.

It looks great. Like the raised panel doors. The wood is beautiful and the finish as well. You should be proud of yourself.

Thanks everyone. This is such a great site and its rewarding to share the photos with people who can appreciate it. Sanding2day, thanks, my father and I have been tough on the western PA whitetail over the years.

Have your say...
