First wood project fishing rod holder

I went to buy one like this is a fishing shop and the price was $80 and i made it for $30 was happy with it as a first. I made this from pine and then stained it. I do think i should just have left it natural looking than stained i will with the next one

Nice job. I made a couple similar to yours. Craft stores have a felt that is adhesive backed that if cut into strips can be used to pad the radius’ where the rods will rest. I used regular felt and titebond glue on mine then found the adhesive backed felt.
