(I am the original Kerux. When I bought a new computer with the newest Windows version…. for some reason my stuff wouldn’t transfer. So after several months of just ‘watching’ I decided to start a new Kerux)

This Bowl has been over a year in the making. This came from a humongous Silver Maple that had to be taken down. It was on the property of an elderly lady in the church where I served in Delaware. The tree was there when her husband and her moved in and 60 years later it had to be taken down. I was able to get a few small blocks of it (everybody and their brother was there trying to get free fire wood).

I wanted a little bit just to make her something out of the tree that meant so much to her. I roughed out the bowl but in the mean time we moved back to Ohio. And as many of you know, I just got the shop up this year. I just finished up the bowl, not anything striking about the grain or anything, but it is her tree. My wife is getting ready to send her a few things, and I wanted to have the bowl done so it could be sent as well.

Silver Maple, 6”x4”, 6 coats of wipe on poly, buffed and waxed.

Great job. I am sure it will be appreciated. The best kind of gift is the one that already holds special memories.

That’s one great looking bowl. Like the rounded shape and the smooth finish. I’m sure she’ll be delighted to get it. Great work!
