How I Spent My Summer Vacation...

Project by Dan M posted 471 days ago 380 views 1 time favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Cornhole, Bean Bags, Tailgate Toss or just Bags .. whatever you call it it’s all the same game and it’s plain fun!

Here is my latest creation – a tribute to my favorite team – the New York Yankees .. the Mrs finally said it was ok to go ahead and make myself a set between customer orders so I grabbed the chance and ran with it. Simple box construction using 1×4 select pine and a 1/2” MDO top. The corners are mitered and biscuited for strengh with the top set into a rabbet and reinforced from underneath to eliminate the annoying bounce you normally get from tossing the bags. Designs hand-drawn and painted and, at least in my opinion, almost too nice to play on… almost!

Best part is I managed to finish this set just in time for this weekend’s series against Boston …

Thanks for looking
Dan

Hi Dan;

I hope whatever you’re throwing at it is just as nice!

Those are cool toss boards. I tried my luck at a couple of double hole toss boxes that I carpeted because I used two 3 1/2 inch spacers as toss pieces. It helps them not bounce off into oblivion. Kind of neat games. Yours are more specific and have a tradition tying them to your favorite teams. Really cool.
