I have been making these magnetic bottle openers. I started out making them for a few of my buddies. Then they told friends…then people told people…now I make 2-3 of them per week for a little side cash. I finally started an Etsy site…if you want the link, let me know…but I dont want to post it in the story here. They are super fun to make.
I basically put a rare earth magnet on the back, paint the opener at the top, and customize the wood how the person wants it.
Fun project, and wanted to show the jocks my cool little creation.

Humm, for somebody so young you have done a great job!
What’s with the drinking at such a young age though ?
No doubt it makes your moustache grow so much!!

No doubt some odd things go on in Texas!!

Keep up the good work!!

Great job! I’ve been meaning to make a few of these for the last couple months and just haven’t got around to it.

BTW, what sized magnet did you use?

I am 8 months, but I look 12 months old…the mustache has really come in nice and frothy!

The magnets are 1 inch diameter and half inch thick.

Great Project and Post. Thanks for sharing!!! I use Rare Earth Mags in my Domino boxes but geez at a 1/2 X 1 those must be rough to get apart if they get together…. I get mine at K&J Magnets is there a better source?

I use magnets4less…pretty good service and super super fast shipping.
Never have tried K&J
Yes, they are super hard to get apart…it took me 10 minutes last weekend when i ACCIDENTALLY let them roll together.

Nice project. I bet they are a hit.

I get my openers off ebay from bottleopenerdude.

Question…What size does it take for the magnet to work properly?

Those are really cool. College Logos bad. I don’t think what you make from ETSY will cover the lawyer fees and judgements you will be hit with for using copyrighted material. My brother launched a personal website with the University of Arizona’s logo on it and got a “Remove immediately” letter two days later. Big colleges hire people to troll the web.

What are the dimensions of your backer board?

Dimensions are about 9-10 inches long by about 4.5-5 wide…really depends on what the people want etc
