My anniversary is on the 28th and my wife n I decided not to buy gifts this year. Money is a little tight with kids in college and things like that. Well I can’t not get her any thing so I decided to make some thing instead. I wanted to learn how to make wood rings but don’t have a chuck for my lathe, even though I know how to do it with out but I watched a video of a guy doing if free hand. So I tried that and it’s not to bad. With some practice I think I can make them real shinny rings. I made these out of walnut with a turquoise stone. I made these as pinky rings to wear next to our wedding rings. This will be our 19 year anniversary and I think this gift will be the best one yet, she love the things I make her. I made one for her to give me and I made her a ring..

Thats pretty neat, its something i would like to try. Neat gesture, i was always told the thi gs we make are more precious and memorable than what we can buy for our loved ones.

Very nice looking rings!
CA glue and Micro mesh is the best way to make them shine!

Amazing freehand control Todd… I couldnt have done that with the proper bit, a jig and with someone showing me how…. really nice project. I understand the whole “money being a little tight with kids in college” thing. Our youngest moved into the dorm on thursday and by monday was already calling needing money…lol

So sweet and very creative, like the wood and turquoise combo. And women totally dig this. Way to go!
