#2 grade 3/4” x 6” white pine. 40 inches wide, 24 inches tall, about 6 inches deep—but it’s stands out from the wall by a half inch. The upper most shelf is actually boxed in on the back side. On the back of that box is a pair of french cleats that mount the whole unit to the wall. On the bottom is a toe-shim to keep it all plumb, level, and all that jazz. The dividers are loose so she can put them where she wants, they are merely for show really. If she gets a crazy idea to put something heavy on it I can fab up brace or two. For now, it’s working fine.

This was a super-quick build in about 2 hours of puttering in the shop late last night. I was trying to keep things simple and found I was not all that impressed with the unit while building it. Kinda thought it was a bit… meh/drab. She’s all gaga and smiles over it and keeps draging out more frogs to put on it….. so I’m gunna call that a win!

No stain or finish as per my Mrs’s request. ( but now she wants me to stain it a deep purple sometime in the future) The original plan included a new desk to match but she found a pre-made (ikea style garb__) desk instead. Sounds like a pair or more of end tables need to be made up instead, heh.

Looks great, a very functional build. It stores and organizes a lot of stuff. Great work!

Have your say...
