Walnut burl coffee table

I obtained a unique piece of walnut burl recently where I was told that it was harvested from a burl where 2 breeds of walnut were grafted together when the tree was very young. Whether its just a good story, or actually true doesn’t matter, the grain is unusual and attractive.

I threw together the leg structure with reverse tapered legs.

Excellent, could not do better, might not have done the reverse taper.

Looks like the grafting line I’ve seen on other boards before for sure. Walnut is often grafted between cultivars for various reasons.

Great looking table! The wood is fantastic and the design is great with those legs.
