my first commissioned project!! This was a rush order, needed to be done in 2 days time. My client wanted a “rustic, aged look” to the case. The wood is pine I removed from a house I was doing demo work in, approx 60 years old. What better material to use since its pre-aged, I just beat on it with a hammer and knocked it around a bit before applying 1 coat of Minwax Special Walnut stain.

Nothing like a deadline to spur us along, eh? I’m sure the ladies loved it.

awesome idea! hope they save the wine for an anniversary – or at least replace it with another bottle to be enjoyed later :)

Great looking box! Like the vintage and distressed look which makes it more special. It’s indeed a great wedding present.
