Barnwood Dining table for two squirrels or one greedy one :)
Pretty straight forward, I was piddling around..and made a frame out of 1×6 barnwood with an angled 15 degree roof, put a table and two chairs in there and epoxied the shank of a couple of big nails out of the table to put the corn on. Used a couple of pieces of plumbers strap to attach it to the Hackberry tree… Best part is I had it certified and tested by the local squirrel society president and he says it (belch) passes…. :) and yes he is actually sitting in his chair but if he eats anymore he is likely to fall out :)
Be Well…

That’s pretty cool. I have a bunch of squirrels (often referred to as Tree Rats) in my back yard. I think I will have to make one of these.

Regarding Lee’s comment about hunters. Reminds me of a conversation I had a few years ago.
A friend of my fathers was an interstate truck driver based out of Georgia.
He tried to explain to me that there actually IS a squirrel hunting season, and you need a license. I was rolling from laughing. I asked 1. Who would ever eat a squirrel. 2. WHY? and 3. How many do you need to bag to get enough for dinner?
well, the answer was 1. Him, his brothers, his cousins, and his folks. 2. Them’s good eatin. 3. A bag full makes a tasty stew.
I’ll take his word for it.

Texas:
Squirrel:
Open Season: October 1-February 3 and May 1-31. Daily bag limit: 10.
That’s easily a stew a day.
Here’s my version. Took about 1/2 an hour. Cedar. Haven’t had a chance to put any squirrel fixins’ in it yet.

Looks great Nice copy Gary. Your squirells won’t be big enough to eat if you don’e get some food to them soon.

Anything that keeps em out of the view of hawks and falcons and keeps em off the ground where cats like to take them apart for sport is A- OK with me.
You will really start to enjoy them now you have station to observe them.

I just got this in an e-mail tonight and thought that it was too much of a coincidence not to post it.
