I sawed down a dead Birch tree, & discovered it was hollow.
These three pieces laid in the wood pile for quite awhile.
I just drilled a hole, & used cedar shingles for the tops, & bottoms.

More Birdhouses!

I’ll have apologize to all of you, because I discovered I posted these before.
I checked to see if they had been posted before, but I must have had a Senior Moment.

This is such a cool idea and the finished project has a nice natural look. I enjoyed seeing your table and seats again too.

Don’t forget to put a room on it for the squirrels to store their nuts for the winter.

Looks like you’re enjoying summer Dick, where summer’s best, at the “palace in the popals”. You and Barb catching any walleye? Hope every thing’s ducky for you two in upper MINN. Nice idea for a birdhouse.

Hi Mike!
You can’t catch a Walleye with a drill-driver, & saw.
We leave the Walleyes for the tourists.
When they go by in their boat, I point to were the fish are.<;O)

Thanks Lee, & Sharad!
A quick, & easy project. You just have to wait for the tree to rot. LOL

I just noticed the other day, that a Birch tree broke off about halfway up from the top.
It ended up in the lake, so I’ll have to wade out in the water to get it.
A flicker had a nest in it for the past few years.
I’ll have an instant birdhouse, built by a bird.
