Well this is catching on .
A little lady stopped by and saw the TEXTURE BOX and said I want one of those for my bathroom.
I got a piece of birch ready and build her a box very similar in size and texture but played with the handle as you can see .
Just waiting for her to tell me the finish and liner she want’s .
Here are the pics of the box but no finish jet .

Beautiful design, Kiefer . . . very peaceful and tranquil. Did you have some Asian influence – maybe Japan?

As you observed in your last post: “If we don’t search for different design options and just follow the tried and known where would we be ???” You are 100% correct, and this box proves that the rough sawn look grows on one and may be the start of something beautiful. Also, another outstanding handle design.

I really like the handle and the way you attached it. This is primo even without the finish/liner. A truly elegant piece of work.

Yep, I like this one even more than the first ….maybe the lift gives it a light airy feel. I am not too sure about the rough sawn texture, but it is sort of growing on me. You may be onto something.

I like this box and the look of it. Brings a sense of calmness and feeling of tranquility with it. Guess that’s just a perk of getting a box from you. Look forward to seeing the finished piece.

Nice design. I like the details. As you probably know, the Japanese have a fond attachment to items with no finish at all…. just sanded smooth. I was given such a box years ago on a business trip to Japan. Unfinished cedar. Perhaps something for a future project?
