Dovetail saw I built out of a kit. The kit came with the saw blade, brass back and brass bolts. I used a handle template I found online. I cut the blank out with a bandsaw and used forstner bits for the curves too tight for the saw. Most of the shaping was done with a rasp then hand sanded up the grits to a nice smooth finish.
The hardest part was cutting the seating for the saw, this had to be perfectly straight, as well as tight so the blade didn’t wobble. The only saw with I had with a thin enough kerf was my hack saw, I hacked away and somehow managed to keep it straight.
The handle is built out of bulletwood finished with shellac, I wet sanded the blade and brass to 600 to give it a nice sheen.
I did my first set of dovetails with this saw tonight, the saw cuts way better than any other saw I have. I’ll have to watch out though, I might get addicted to dovetailing and try my hardest to do dovetails wherever I can.
