I was at an Amish sawmill buying some oak boards for another project when I came across some interesting looking cut offs and slabs. I asked him what they were and he told me Butternut. I talked him into selling me one and I’ve had it drying in my garage for almost a year. Since Butternut is a cousin to Black Walnut (hence the name white walnut) I just HAD to see how they looked together. This edge grain board is 12×18 with handles routed in the ends. pictures don’t do it justice. This one is gorgeous! I am getting requests for more now! What kind of monster have I created?
