I got it finished! This is my third cradle and the most challenging to date.

It is made of Yellow Birch which was milled locally and sized in my shop.

I don’t have a lathe so I got Earl, a friend of mine, to turn the posts and the stretchers. he did a great job.

The plans called for Cherry or Walnut, however, my daughter wanted it stained to match the cradle and change table so any light wood would have done.

The stain is Minwax Mahogany and finished with several coats of Minwax Wipe-On poly satin finish.

Very nicely done. Is it a double duty cradle? It looks like it can also be put on the floor and rocked.

Yes, it can be placed on the floor. It has it’s own rockers.
