I made this footlong sub sandwich for a 2×4 contest that my woodworking association had this past weekend. I ended up winning a gift card to Peachtree Woodworking Supply. I had no idea how this would turn out when I started, which is one of the things I love about 2×4 contests. The tray and the sandwich are all made from the same 2×4. I used some stain and food coloring to make it look more realistic. The lettuce is made from planer shavings. Check out my video for a closer look. And yes, it is a full 12” long. LOL Is it lunch time yet?

Very creative! That is definitely the most fun entry for a 2×4 contest I have seen. Well deserved win.

That’s great! I never would have thought of anything as novel as that. How cool….

We’ve had lots of “food” projects, and they’re all very clever. There are probably more than this. Many of these are Hairy’s.
