Well, after 25 years, my wife finally got her very own nightstand. Made one for myself too so they’d match.

This is a combination of several designs I saw in the interwebs with some input from my wife as well…gents, we all know who has the final say, right?

Maple hardwood and Birch plywood make up the carcass and the drawers have Maple fronts with Poplar sides and backs.

Stained with Minwax Jacobean to match the bed and several coats of Varathane followed. My wife did all the staining and Varathaning.

This was a fun project but loooooooooooooooong overdue.

Cheers….Don

I really like the design of those.

I thought I was the only person to ever stain maple with Jacobean!

Wish I could get my wife involved in the shop.

It looks elegant. Like the design especially the legs and the stain. Great job!

Did you follow any plans for this project?

No plans were followed Jason. SWMBO went looking on the ‘net for some pictures of nightstands and this is a result of combining the features she likes most of 3 of them.
