This is my first attempt at carving. Done with chisels, a hook knife and spokeshaves. I tried to use a hatchet, but the spoon was too small (or was it my skills that were too small?). I found it quite a satisfying little project.

Nice first effort. I’m not sure how I could make a spoon without my rotary tools. If I had to use a chisel, or any other sharp pointy thing…. I would probably end up carving my hand instead.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Good first effort. I have found sloyd (I think that’s spelled right) knives to be very useful along with the hook knife.
