I made this headboard for my girlfriend. I used standard pine for the frame and panels. The top piece is made from Doug Fir. The support posts are made from 3 pieces of 1X4 pine glued together. The middle piece has a section cut out to allow for the panel. The panel is glued and screwed from the backside through the support posts. The panel is connected by pocketscrews as well as the top piece. I routed an ogee profile on the bottom edges of the top piece.
The pine is stained with Old Masters dark walnut gel stain. It is finished with wipe-on satin poly.
Thanks for looking and as always comments are welcome!
