Great looking carving Mike…He looks a little grumpy, has he lost his ship…:)
I am with Jim, I think leave it natural..it looks great just as it is.

A lot of character in this character! Hope you are a better painter than I am….. I'm horrible. I like it natural but I also like when folks use a 'color wash' on some of the little guys.

Wonderful carving work Mike. I like it either way painted or plain. Here in Norway they usually use water based dyes on the colored ones so the wood grain will show through. The best of both worlds.

Definitely leave as is Mike, painted, it could be plastic from a $2.00 shop!

Great carving on that wonderful piece. It has a lot of great details and facial expression. Like the natural look more.
