So I finally decided to build a guitar. I’ve always thought the vintage totally worn out guitars had the most character so I made my Relic Telecaster. The body is 2 piece Poplar that I made and bought a bare neck and hardware. Body finish is dirty wash to dye the body then sealer, primer and tinted Nitrocellulose Lacquer. Same tinted lacquer on the neck after the dirty wash. I chipped and scraped the body to beat it up before and during the finishing process. Hardware is aged by beating it up then etching and rusting. It plays fabulous and sounds way too good for homemade. It feels like I’ve had it all my life.

Impressive work on that awesome guitar. It looks authentic. I’m sure it sounds great as it looks.

Have your say...
