Just made a quick practice tool tote. I want to make a nice one eventually but this will do for now. Just made out of 1/2” ply I had laying around the shop. Also made a hanger for it to keep it at arms reach but off the bench.

I really like the tall end pieces and “Fair” lines that this tote has. Some are simply homely looking ,but the ones like this that appear proportionate and somehow balanced make me want to make more out of ply scraps I have laying around!

A great job and thanks for taking time to share.

Thanks Jerry! I used my french curve to layout the lines for the same reason you mentioned. I wanted to practice the design and dimensions even with the plywood version. Next time I’ll do a better job with the roundovers. Maybe I’ll do them on a router table instead of by hand to make them cleaner.

This tool box reminds me of the ones my grandpa and dad carried when they were in business together do carpentry work, and building houses back in the late ‘40’s and 50’s…...They carried saws, hammers, measuring tools, and all the essentials needed to go to the job site…...Ah, the memories…..I now have one of my dads..

I have seen many tool totes on this site and elsewhere but liked very simple and yet attractive tote you have made. The idea of making a hanger is very special.
